The Country Quilters Weekend.
On a weekend in May last year, quilters from all over the countryside took over the Memorial Hall, the RSL, The Masonic Lodge, the Bowling Club, the Pub and the Caravan Park at Cohuna, Why, you ask? Well at the Memorial Hall there was a beautiful quilt exhibition, wall to wall, on the stage, in hallways and even in the dining area!
The theme was teddy bears’ picnic and you’ve never seen so many cute teddys. To help the retail therapy there were some lovely traders tables with all sorts of treasures as well as a wonderful range of fabrics.
In the Masonic Lodge Sonya Else was teaching the intricacies of making a Celtic Table Runner. In the Bowling Club a very happy sit & sew group all worked on their own projects.
There was fabulous food – home made soups, and the cakes and sandwiches just kept on coming. A fun night at the pub – hosted by Goldilocks - finished with an inspiring Show & Tell
In the RSL Robyn Harris’ students worked away at Whirlygig
